However there is a need for 24 hour front desk service. The electrical transformer went out, leaving our room without power for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes at 10:04pm AND compromised plumbing. We had no one to address the plumbing issue until the next morning . There was no one to speak to other than security regarding the matter as hotel employees leave at the 10:00 pm. Security could not provide much information.
The very next day, I had to share with staff of our experience . Hotel staff was not proactive in terms of checking in on the hotel dwellers. Inquiring if there were any needs and or apologizing for the inconveniences.
The hotel is in dire need of upgrades. The linens are dingy in color, they are not inviting. The pool and jacuzzi area could benefit from enhance lighting and upgrade, it looks murky. The hotel is definitely not worth the overpriced stay. There is a looming foul odor of raw sewage that’s present throughout different sections of the hotel ….extremely concerning .
Unfortunately we had three room changes throughout our three night stay. Though the staff was supportive, this is a larger issue . The first room change came as a result of a leak from the air conditioner. The second room change was in part due our compromising plumbing and severe humidity. We were not able to flush our toilet for several hours. And humidity caused water to be collected on the floor. Per staff we cannot have the AC too high and or turn the AC offf as it creates room condensation . Our third and final room was better, though a mild odor was still present .
Once the concerns were reported , staff did their best to respond … however again this is a bigger issue that needs to be remedied.
For the price of the stay I would encourage the owner “Ben” to reinvest in the hotel and provide true four/five star service and rating. It’s very clear that cutting corners and increasing profit is the goal.
Cons: Plumbing, overpriced stay , non functioning hotel app, foul sewage odor, overpriced food, outdated room appliances, dingy towels, lack of adequate lighting in passageways , murky pool area, room furniture upgrades needed.
Minerva y Braulia. Nos ha encantado!!!!
we had “the best suite in the hotel” and sadly it was not as imagined. the toilet did not work for 1.5 days, even after the promise that it was fixed, it was not. the water stopped working once. the air conditioning and fridge are loud and disturbing. the room lay-out was not thought through, the terrace door is placed in front of the tv, which makes you run into it constantly. we booked a hiking tour with the option of snorkeling afterwards and were completely misinformed by the hotel staff, who we spoke to about the exact details ahead of the tour. we then found ourselves in a snorkeling tour with a 30 min hike in wet bathing suit at the end and were still made to pay the full price. the food and especially the bad coffee at breakfast ( 7$???) are overpriced! it is a joke that we did not have a working bathroom and had to use the bathroom outside in the middle of the night and we’re not compensated by even one cent.
