SPANISH BY THE SEA – PUERTO VIEJO

A spirit of travel, celebration and adventure characterizes this language centre based in Costa Rica and Panama. Ingrid, its creator, likes to remind us that we learn better when we are relaxed, which is why classes are always held in a natural and peaceful environment, and that many sporting, cultural or festive activities are offered to students every day. As in Turrialba (Spanish by the River) or in Panamanian schools (Bocas, Boquete and Panamá City), teachers use playful and participatory methods that combine language learning and discovery of local culture. We study under a rancho in the open air, then surf, yoga or hammock for the most tired. The centre also promotes access to volunteer work, with educational projects for Indian populations, as well as missions to protect marine turtles, and work on an organic farm, among others.
