Hotel with wooden bungalows, and a salt water pool, with rather uncluttered rooms with decorated bathrooms.
Bungalows all made of wood, very nicely decorated by the owners, suitable to make the most jaded dream. In 2013, a complete refurbishment was carried out. For 23 years, while respecting the spirit and organization of a primitive village, the Franco-Spanish management has been able to develop one of the most beautiful places on the coast by taking care of the smallest details. Each bungalow has a crazy charm, with rather refined rooms where you feel good, sobriety of wood as a bonus. Fan in all rooms (they are sufficiently well ventilated naturally and air conditioning would be too much), hair dryer and safe. The bathrooms, decorated with pre-Columbian mosaics in soft harmonies of colours, are particularly successful. A new bungalow "la casita" is adapted for people with reduced mobility. Curiosity: a ceibo (cheese maker) 60 metres high. A chic restaurant opens its doors for dinner, very pleasant. A masseuse can come directly to the hotel: ask at the reception desk. It also provides you with all the information you will need, and coordinates the tours organized in the region. Wifi access mainly under the rancho, and a salt water swimming pool perfectly integrated into the environment invites you to relax, with a beautiful small waterfall.

Pudimos ver, escuchar y sentir la naturaleza más pura de Costa Rica desde nuestro tipy. Las comodidades son de lujo, están muy limpias y cuentan con todo lo necesario.
Además el ambiente es muy especial y romántico, tienes la sensación de estar en medio de la selva pero a la vez con la intimidad perfecta.
Su ubicación es ideal en Playa Chiquita, el hotel tiene un camino directo para llegar hasta la playa.
Nos quedamos dos noches y nos hubiésemos quedado 1 semana (no pudimos porque el hotel estaba lleno).
Recomendaría este lugar como el mejor de toda Costa Rica, tras haber recorrido todo el país.
Gracias a todo el equipo de Shawandha por hacernos sentir como en casa.
Nos sentimos como si estuviéramos alojados en mitad de la selva profunda, con un entorno repleto de vida salvaje, y a dos minutos andando de Playa Chiquita (preciosa). El servicio y la comida fueron excelentes, así como el trato cercano y cálido de su gente.
Volveremos sin dudarlo! 100% recomendado.
