One of the most magical places I’ve been to on this planet.
Built by an equally amazing woman Lana with a ton of amazing support from the community. Still astounded by the feat of engineering and willpower to build such a magnificent structure atop a mountain in the rainforest.
A 40 minute drive from Puerto Jiménez or a 10 minute drive from the playa carate airstrip at the base of the mountain.
Upon driving into the entrance of the lodge, there’s the kitchen and dining hall to the front and a gorgeous pool area surrounded by trees to the immediate left.
The dining area has the most amazing food cooked by incredible staff. Gil, David, Mauricio, and everyone else were all spectacular. Kind, patient, friendly, and professional. The food was so fresh, I even saw a garden in the back with fresh herbs being grown. Dessert is so good I still dream about it. The fruit at breakfast is incredibly satisfying and rich. The coffee is ever refilling at the entrance to the dining hall. The water is sourced and process from high up on the mountain.
There’s a library and gift shop nestled by the corner of the dining hall. And if you’re lucky, perhaps you’ll catch a glimpse of Osa ????
There are ten bungalows and a few tents scattered around the campus. Up on top of the campus is the most awe inspiring yoga shala with a backdrop of the entire jungle. Seeing the mist roll in in the morning never fails to take my breath away. The stairs to the shala can be tiring so definitely take caution if it’s rainy season, but the view is always worth. They also offer reiki and massages here which have incredible deep healing.
The bungalows are cute with open air showers and are freshly set every day. It does get super dark at night so definitely bring a flashlight or headlamp. Howler monkeys may wake you up around 5-6AM in the morning but that’s part of the fantastic experience of the rainforest and being so close to nature. There are scarlet macaws flying about the area and it really feels like you’ve been dropped into a movie at times.
There is a waterfall train with access nearby to the campus as well. This place really has everything.
Would recommend this place if you’re looking to tap into nature and connect with yourself. Such an honor to be able to experience such beauty in my lifetime.
Schade,schade…….
Everything was simply spectacular: the whole staff is always keen to help and make you feel at home, starting from Lana, the incredible owner of the lodge; the food is local, fresh and delicious; there is a whole range of activities that Lana organize - we even had the opportunity to participate to a Cacao ceremony that was quite an experience. You could literally spend from few days to few months in that lodge as you will always feel at home.
The view of the yoga place is spectacular.
Just keep in mind that the road to get there requires 4W car and a really expert driver, so if you don’t feel confident, is a good option to accept the lift from the lodge.
Lana and her team have created a very welcoming, special environment. This is simply a great place to stay. The food was plentiful, varied and delicious. The rooms and tents are very nice. We stayed in both a room (not a bungalow) and a tent. We preferred the tent because of the fantastic views, but note it was 189 steps from the main lodge to our tent, and there are also up ramps in addition to the steps! We did see birds right outside our room, but there were no real views. The rooms are the closest to the main lodge, which has phenomenal views. Would absolutely stay here again, even though we don't tend to stay in places this nice!
Superbe belle place ambiance détendue en pleine jungle avec chute piscine
Nourriture fabuleuse (:

This place literally has something magic about it. My wife and I felt emotional upon arrival and didn’t know why. This has to be one of the most remote places you could possibly build a lodge and it feels like you are on the edge of the earth. All the food is organic and local, the owner of the hotel, Lana, runs a charity that helps protect the rainforest. The massive covered yoga platform is located at the top of the mountain and is extremely beautiful. There are trails to explore the jungle on property with waterfalls. If you want the beach, you can get a ride downhill to Carate where if you see one other person, it’s a busy day. Highly recommend the honeymoon suite which has really special views
Fabulous find in the middle of the jungle, but don't forget your 4x4. We arrived during a heavy rain storm in the middle of the rain season at sundown and highly recommend that you make the trek during a sunny day. Allow enough travel time if you're driving and just follow the posted signs. They have a saying "Good roads, bad people. Bad roads, good people".
Accommodations were fun hanging out in the individual privately placed cabanas. Glamping tents are located higher up near the Yoga studio and massage room. Living 100% off grid is wonderful, but please note that unforeseen things can happen in the jungle. Excellent healthy meals served with a smile though.
Conveniently located next to the main entrance to the Corcovado Park. Our guide Kevin was amazing and has eyes like a hawk. Excellent photographer too.... ask him about the Apple phone trick that I taught him : )
Lana, the owner of this beautiful lodge is an angel and guardian of the jungle. Her continued efforts to save this pristine part of the world deserves the highest honors and recognition. She is also an expert when it comes to real estate, so if you're looking at investing to save this jungle.... be sure to tell her that I sent you!
I highly recommend that you book today and enjoy an experience of a lifetime. I know that I'll be going back : )
This is a wonderful Lodge, very ecologically not just in name. The tents are very open with lots of airflow and there was no plastic smell in our tent. The views over the jungle and to the Pacific are breathtaking. The yoga session in the mornings are fantastic, even if you are a beginner, like me. Lana really takes care of the nature and of her employees. Such a peaceful place. The ride to the lodge is an adventure in itself, especially during the rainy season. The food is great too.
It's a must if you want to have a fantastic experience. Everything is perfect there. Place in the wild, Food, wine, staff and the wonderful owner. The road to get there is an experience too.
