Go there and contact
The Las Pailas Forest Ranger Station offers visitors the chance to observe secondary volcanic activity such as fumaroles, boiling water lagoons and mud pailas. In addition to these volcanic phenomena, the site offers a wide variety of impressive ecosystems and landscapes, including waterfalls, areas of regenerating grasslands and primary forests. The park boasts a network of trails, ranging from entirely natural paths to others that have been lightly developed and adapted for people with reduced mobility. All trails offer excellent opportunities to observe birds, mammals and reptiles. Rincón de la Vieja National Park was created in 1973 and protects important watersheds and the largest population of Costa Rica's national flower, the guaria morada. Entrance fees are 1,130 colones for Costa Rican adults and $16.95 for foreign adults.
