POSTE DE GARDIENS DU REFUGE
The Curú Wildlife Refuge is located in the province of Puntarenas. Part of the Tempisque Conservation Area, it is located in the tropical dry forests of the southern Nicoya Peninsula, near Tambor. Created in 1983, the refuge covers an area of 11.22 km² and is managed by the National System of Conservation Areas. The refuge is home to a wide variety of animals, including parrots, macaws, monkeys and exotic birds such as the long-tailed Manakin. Visitors can enjoy guided horseback tours to explore the area, including Quesera Beach. Huts are also available for rent for those wishing to stay on site.
