CABO BLANCO BUTTERFLY FARM
At the gates of the Cabo Blanco nature reserve, between Mal País and Cabuya, the butterfly farm belongs to Laurent d'Adrenalina Surf and his wife, Rachel, a preschool teacher who is passionate about gardening. The opportunity to escape a few hours from the hustle and bustle of Santa Teresa and take a course in lepidopterology. Laurent, a graduate of entomology, has found the perfect balance between surfing and butterflies, with the help of Cédric, a specialist in fauna and flora, we learn a lot about butterflies but also about insects in general and plants. For example, you will see some small hives of melipona, bees without stings that produce little honey but with an unequalled perfume and quality (exceptional moisturizing, nourishing, regenerating and soothing properties). You can also meet the majestic morpho with its electric blue wings and another endemic butterfly that is the star of the site. The garden is superb, the dedicated spaces and the laboratories well maintained, it is a real small farm since the holometabolas are sent to the state of nymphs (chrysalis) in the United States and Canada to provide the parks with butterflies. A visit not to be missed.
