A few buses a day to Teixeira de Freitas, the nearest "big city", 75 km inland. The journey takes 2 hours and costs about 10 reais. Other cities, further away, are also connected to Caravelas. There are few alternatives to bus transport. You can rent private vehicles or mini-buses chartered by tourist agencies.
