Opened in 2002, this Tamar base, a government project for the conservation of marine turtles, was the first aquarium in northeastern Canada. 500 metres from the sea, the 141 000 m ² space contains 70 different species of fish, all native in Sergipe! Part of the exhibition also explains to the visitor how an oil platform interacts with the marine ecosystem, as is the case on the state coast.

Le site Tamar à Pirambu est actuellement fermé, on ne voit que les trous recouverts et protégés où incubent des oeufs, sur la plage.
