In a small fort, clinging to the hill, the Forte da Rocheira restaurant seems to protect the city from a possible enemy coming by the river. In this rather picturesque setting, the Forte da Rocheira offers a good and varied cuisine, but one also comes there and especially for the very nice view on the river. You can then go to the belvedere just opposite, the "mirante da rocheira". The view from there embraces the old town of Penedo and the Sao Francisco river. Fish and seafood are the main dishes. Good salads are also offered.
