ORLA BARDOT
Walk starting at Armação beach, where a statue of Brigitte Bardot, more or less resembling her, has been erected
This promenade (orla), which starts at Armação beach, was renamed Orla Bardot to pay tribute to the French star who introduced the little resort to the world in the 60s. She was visiting Brazil with her Brazilian-born fiancé Bob Zaguri, and fell in love with the fishing village. She left, but her name remained. It's a city beach, with boats, restaurants, bars and clubs. A bronze statue, more or less a likeness of her, by artist Christina Motta, is a reminder of her passing.
