Mais la visite du parc en vaut l'effort. Dans un canyon verdoyant et spectaculaire, émergeant au milieu de la savane de caatinga, des milliers de peintures préhistoriques sont accessibles (parfois difficilement) grâce à un guide obligatoire et au cours d'une randonnée. La visite revient cher pour un voyageur solo (comptez 200 reais pour le guide et le transport en moto), plus abordable en groupe (350 reais à partager pour guide+voiture). L'Hôtel Real dans le village est une bonne base pour la visite.
