TERMINAL DE BUS

All buses in Antigua arrive or are to be taken at the nozzle terminal.

Guatemala Ciudad (45 km, approximately 1 hour 30). Departure every 5 minutes from 5 am to 18 pm. Tariff: 11 Q; a little more on Sundays and holidays. All travel agencies organize from 4 a. m. to the Guaté airport, or to the city centre of the capital (US $ 10 with an agency).

Via via Chimaltenango. In Chimaltenango, connection for Chichicastenango (98 km, about 3 hours) every 45 minutes from 6 h to 18 h (20 Q). On Sunday, market day at Chichi, the shuttles leave around 7 h (from US $ 8 to US $ 12).

Chimaltenango (15 km, about 45 minutes). Departure every 15 minutes from 6 h to 18 h (5 Q). Connections for Chichicastenango, Panajachel, Xela…

Ciudad Vieja (5 km, 20 minutes). Departure every 30 minutes from 7 h to 20 h (3 to 5 Q).

Huehuetenango via Chimaltenango. Connection for Huehue (211 km) every hour from 7 h to 16 h, 6 hours of travel (30 Q). Since Huehuetenango, you can join Todos Santos (50 km, 2 hours): 7 bus from 10 h to 17 h (25 Q).

. No direct bus! You have to change in Escuintla (35 km) then Taxisco, then La Avellana, then take a boat for Monterrico (3 to 4 hours drive). Simpler, safer and faster: take a bus. Several daily departures from 80 Q, for about 2 hours. By shuttle, count about US $ 10.

Panajachel (100 km, approximately 2 hours 30). Direct bus: The departure is in front of the post (Correos), at the corner of the Calzada Santa Lucía and 4 a C. Departure at 7 (36 Q). By shuttle, between US $ 12 and US $ 8. Via Chimaltenango, connection for Panajachel (85 km, 2 hours 30-3 hours): 10 bus from 6 h 30 to 17 h (20 Q).

Quetzaltenango (Xela) via Chimaltenango. Connection for Xela (145 km, 4 hours): 10 bus from to (25 Q). By shuttle, count about US $ 25.

San Antonio Aguas Calientes (8 km, 25 minutes). Departure every 30 minutes from 7 h to 20 h (3 to 5 Q).

San Juan del Obispo (5 km, 20 minutes). Departure every 30 minutes from 7 h to 18 h (5 Q).

Santa María de Jesús (11 km, 45 minutes). Departure every hour from 7 am to 20 pm (8 Q).
