PALACIO DEL AYUNTAMIENTO
Palacio housing the Museo del Libro Antiguo with several books, the Museo Santiago de los Caballeros and a collection of weapons.
The municipality moved into this building in 1743, at the end of its construction. Despite several historical changes, it is still there, now represented by the City Council. The Palacio also houses the Museo del Libro Antiguo, which displays several examples of books and the first printing press to operate in Guatemala in 1660, as well as the Museo Santiago de los Caballeros, which displays an interesting collection of weapons used by the Spaniards and the indigenous people during their "encounter" in the 16th century.
