POSADA DEL BOSQUE ENCANTADO

Posada del Bosque Encantado is a comfortable hotel located in San Marcos La Laguna, a small Mayan village near the shores of Guatemala's volcanic Lake Atitlan. Café del Bosque offers vegetarian and non-vegetarian culinary delights, with an emphasis on traditional Guatemalan dishes created and served to our guests by our excellent staff. A campfire circle in the middle of our forest of coffee, avocado and citrus trees becomes the venue for musical gatherings on full moons or Mayan ceremonial occasions. Our temascal, or sauna, is available for guests to rent. It's possible to swim on the shores of Lake Atitlan, dive from the rocks along the hillsides and stroll through the nearby Mayan villages of San Marcos La Laguna. This growing community of foreigners from many countries offers a variety of alternative therapies, yoga, meditation, massage classes and other healing arts, as well as an incredible dance studio. There are many projects that benefit the local Mayan population, and many opportunities to get involved as a volunteer in different fields of interest.
