MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO REGIONAL
Museum exhibiting a collection by the German priest Hugo Rossbach, who served Chichicastenango, including jade necklaces and figurines.
Housed in a building renovated in the 2010s, under the arcades, it borders the south side of the market square, near Santo Tomás. Far from being a must-see, this small museum displays the interesting collection of German priest Hugo Rossbach, who served Chichicastenango until his death in 1944. It contains jade necklaces, figurines, ceremonial masks and grinding stones, on which pre-Columbian civilizations crushed seeds.
