CATEDRAL SANTA CRUZ DEL QUICHÉ
Go there and contact
Planted with the heart of the Parque Central, it is a beautiful colonial church. Built in the early years of Spanish dominion, at the initiative of the Dominican missionaries who followed the conquistadors. Kumarkaj was destroyed following the siege of 1524, which marked the collapse of the mighty Quiché kingdom, and was used to use the beautiful stone stones of the ancient capital. On the square is the famous statue of stone of Tecun Umán (it is found in many flyers distributed by the Inguat) defeated by Pedro de Alvarado in a singular fight.
