Archaeological park with restored ruins, including pyramidal temples, a series of squares and a pelota court.
The city was rediscovered in 1840 by the American explorer John Lloyd Stephens and the British architect Frederick Catherwood. The ruins then covered with vegetation were restored, revealing pyramidal temples, a series of squares and a pelota court. These buildings show the influence of Teotihuacan, in the current Mexico. In addition, the site has a small museum that exhibits pieces and bone remains found on site.
