ALTAR HEADQUARTERS
Seven natural pools formed by fresh mountain water that creates a río flowing into the Caribbean Sea.
Considered a mystical place for the Garifunas, it consists of seven small natural pools formed by the fresh water that comes from the mountain. It creates a river that flows into the Caribbean Sea. Far from being a must-see - especially if you've just seen Semuc Champey - the Seven Altars are one of the easiest walks to make on your own from Livingston, since you only need to go along the northern beaches, starting with Playa Quehueche. However, beware: the site is dry during the summer, from November to April.
