MUSEO DE ARQUEOLOGÍA Y ETNOLOGÍA HORACIO ALEJOS
Museum featuring a collection of ancient artefacts linked to the Mesoamerican cultures of Maya, Olmec and Toltec.
The museum contains an interesting collection of ancient pieces found on the coast and in the fincas of the department. Displayed in eight rooms, they come from the Mesoamerican cultures present in Guatemala - the Maya, Olmec and Toltec. Among them are vases, statuettes and small jars, some of which had a ceremonial use and others domestic. The exhibition also features photographs of the colonial life of Retalhuleu.
