BIOTOPO MONTERRICO-HAWAII

The region of Monterrico has a humid area of exceptional richness in terms of concentration and fauna. The mangroves of the natural reserve of the Monterrico-Hawaii biotope, along the small Canals of Chiquimulilla joining the sea, are the natural habitat of a myriad of bird species (150 species identified) whose heron (garza) is the most beautiful representative, but also of migratory species, depending on the season. This ecosystem is also the place of life of turtles, tattoos, caïmans, racoons (but not toréadors, at the risk of disappointing followers of Prévert). Tours are organized by the Cecon to discover this exceptional environment. In the morning the departure takes place around 5 pm to take advantage of the dawn of the day.
