FONDATION JATUN SACHA
The foundation Jatun Sacha was established in 1989 after the opening of the eponymous biological station in the tropical region of Napode, Ecuador. Its mission is to promote research and programmes related to the conservation of Ecuadorian biological heritage. It also works in the field of education to preserve the biological and cultural diversity of Amazon Ecuador.
What do they propose ? The Foundation proposes workshops on the six reserves of the region : Bilsa, Guandera, Italian, Congal, Tito Santos and Jatun Sacha. Volunteers can carry out several tasks : maintenance and development of reserves, participation in children's education activities, assistance at all stages of reforestation development…
Where ? Ecuador, Galapagos Islands.
Profile and conditions.
You must be at least 18 years old and benefit from health insurance. A good level in Spanish is also requested. The yards last from 1 to 3 months. Costs are at your expense, as well as transportation. Finally, a contribution of USD 35 USD will have to be settled before departure.
