Museum housing a collection of objects and historical documents dating back to the Real Audiencia de Quito
This museum is part of the Centro Cultural Metropolitano. The permanent room "From Quito to Ecuador" was inaugurated in 2002. It covers 1,006 m² and contains a collection of objects and historical documents dating from the Real Audiencia de Quito, from 1736 until the establishment of the Republic in 1830. Tours are offered in English or Spanish. Don't miss the reconstructed prison in the basement where some independence supporters were massacred.
