Installed in a beautiful colonial house of the XVIth century which sheltered the hospital of the Misericordia de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, later called San Juan de Dios, this museum, which is one of the most interesting of Quito, retraces the history of the capital and tells the way of life of its first inhabitants until the XVIIth century, through reconstitutions of house interiors, events and festivals, with a beautiful collection of costumes in particular. A very instructive visit and varied temporary exhibitions. Interactivity appreciated by children.
