MUSEO CAMILO EGAS
Museum housed in a beautiful mansion, which became the property of the Central Bank of Ecuador in 1980
The collection of the Camilo Egas Museum is housed in a beautiful seventeenth-century mansion, built with high narrow windows and around a patio. The house became the property of the Central Bank of Ecuador in 1980. Built on ruins from the Inca period, this house has the particularity of having the floor paved with cow vertebrae. It is dedicated above all to the conservation, promotion and dissemination of the modern work of the talented precursor of the indigenous movement Camilo Egas (1889-1962), who lived in Madrid and Paris and studied with Picasso.
