PARQUE EL EJIDO
The park is home to almost 1,500 species of plants and trees, and is an ideal place to admire the work of craftsmen
This area was the landing field for the first plane to land in Quito. The park owes its Arabic name to the Andalusian influence, and means "end of the city". El Ejido marks the boundary between the old and the new city and is home to nearly 1,500 species of plants and trees. For those staying in the Mariscal district, it is the nearest green space. On weekends, part of the park is invaded by casetas, a kind of small tents that offer local crafts. It is the ideal place to admire the work of the craftsmen.
