Church featuring Nuestra Señora de las Lajas, Señor Resucitado and Virgen del Carmen
Before the battle of Ibarra on July 17, 1832, Agustín Agualongo's troops took possession of the church and occupied the tower to watch the arrival of Bolívar's troops. In 1911, the Spaniards transformed the church into a quarter for their troops. This church was destroyed in the earthquake of 1868. Inside, we can admire the representation of Nuestra Señora de las Lajas as well as the Señor Resucitado and the Virgen del Carmen attributed to the Quentin School.
