DOLOROSA BASILICA
Neo-Romanesque basilica housing works of art such as Christ Crucified and a painting of the Virgen Dolorosa
This neo-Romanesque basilica dates from the late 20th century. It has large towers, but is not very interesting. In fact, a large part of the basilica fell during the earthquake of 1987. The current construction dates from 1991-1992. Among the works of art that can be seen inside the church are the crucified Christ and a painting of the Virgen dolorosa (Sorrowful Virgin) which gave it its name. It is a popular place of prayer on Sundays.
