CATEDRAL DE IBARRA
Romanesque cathedral housing numerous works by artists who trained at the Escuela Quiteña
This stone cathedral, in Romanesque style, has a beautiful white façade. It was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1868. Inside, you can admire many works by artists who were trained at the Escuela Quiteña. In the evening, under the arcades, you can play a few cents at the Lotto, called quina here. The Pedro Moncayo Park is a meeting place for the locals who come to chat, read the newspaper, play cards or dominoes or simply take a nap in the shade of a large tree.
