On July 20, Machachí, in the province of Pichincha, receives its visitors dressed in zamarros, ponchos, scarves and hats. Experience the most colorful celebration in Ecuador. This celebration begins with an open-air mass, followed by a procession with cows and horses, and a bull run. On the occasion of this celebration, the Andean cowboys, called chagras, participate in many festivities in the province of Pichincha, but their biggest festival is the Paseo Procesional del Chagra which gives rise to beautiful demonstrations of dressage.
