This is a very authentic market and therefore much less touristy than the one in Otavalo. It is held on the squares of the city. Each square has its own speciality: fruits and vegetables, livestock, clothes, utensils... are sold and bought. It is one of the most colorful and interesting traditional markets in northern Ecuador. Not to be missed if you are in the area! You will even have the opportunity to exchange with the sellers, very open and rather smiling. The later you arrive, the more people will be available.
