QUINTA DE JUAN LEON MERA
Property built on a hill, home to cumbi coconut trees that have disappeared from most Latin American countries
This property, built on a hill, overlooks a large flower garden and dates from 1874. It was here that the poet Juan León Mera retired to enjoy the countryside, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The house has preserved all the charm of the old and noble houses, and it is a pleasure to wander through the succession of rooms with intact furniture. The garden is home to 250 species of plants. The cedar, the palm and the eucalyptus stand out, you can also admire the cumbi coconut trees which have disappeared from most of Latin America.
