MUSEO DE JUAN MONTALVO

This is probably the highlight of your visit to Ambato. The property of the famous poet stands on the banks of the Ambato River. A vast botanical garden stretches to the edge of the tumultuous river where children come to bathe. The 200 year old house has retained its colonial charm. The three traditional wings of the superbly restored house frame a patio decorated with palm trees. The rooms in a row are furnished with furniture of the time. Objects (letters, engravings, documents, weapons, etc.) recall the life of the author of the national anthem.
