Garden featuring over 200 plant species and home to the first eucalyptus trees planted in Ecuador in the century
This 14-hectare garden was founded in 1849 by Dr. Nicolás Martínez Vasconez, on very fertile volcanic soil. It houses the properties that belonged to the Martinez-Holguin family and to Juan Leon Mera. More than 200 plant species can be discovered in this beautiful garden. There are 7 endemic species. We can also find there the first Eucalypus planted in Ecuador in the 19th century, omnipresent in the country today.
