The climb up to Illuchi offers a magnificent view of the Tungurahua volcano
Here is an interesting excursion which will not cost you a kopeck. The starting point of this walk to the village of Illuchi is at the bus terminal. You have to cross the San Francisco bridge which spans the Pastaza river and where many tourists try bungee jumping. Then continue uphill towards Illuchi where you can have a beautiful view of the Tungurahua volcano. You can hire a car if you don't have the courage to walk to the end, the locals are always ready to help tourists.
