In Cuenca. Parade of children dressed in biblical characters and traditional costumes to pay homage to the Child Jesus.
The Pase del Niño de Cuenca is without a doubt one of the most important popular religious events in the country. It refers to the Niño viajero, the travelling Child Jesus, a sculpture by Doña Josefa Heredia dating from 1823, which Monsignor Miguel Cordero Crespo took with him in 1961 on a pilgrimage to various holy places around the world. At the end of this pilgrimage, the Child Jesus was blessed by Pope John XXIII. Upon his return, the people of Cuenca named him "The Travelling Infant Jesus".
