MUSEO DE LA IDENTIDAD CAÑARI
Museum with a collection of pre-Columbian archaeological artefacts belonging to the Cañari peoples
The museum's collection is made up of archaeological pieces of pre-Columbian origin belonging to the Cañari peoples, from the Narrio period to the arrival of the Incas. There is also an art collection made up of colonial paintings and sculptures from the 18th and 19th centuries, traditional Cuenca paintings and ethnographic objects. The typical Cuencano accent, the contadito, is one of the few relics of the Cañari people that is not represented here.
