To discover the Saraguros' way of life, there is nothing like an immersion in one of their communities. Families have gathered in the "Saraguro Rikuy" network, which welcomes travellers who are curious about their culture. The latter are accommodated in the homes of the inhabitants (in the surrounding villages) or, for larger groups, in the Achik Wasi community hotel. On site: walks, participation in agricultural work (in the fields) and daily tasks (especially cooking). The aim is to revitalize the region to combat the rural exodus. Saraguro is easily reached by bus from Cuenca or Loja. Once in Saraguro, go to the main square where the operator Saraukur will take you.
