Church in eclectic Romanesque and Gothic style, housing the image of the Rosario Virgin, brought from Seville
The construction of this impressive church of eclectic style - Romanesque and Gothic, among others - lasted more than 40 years, between 1557 and 1600. It contains the image of the Virgin of the Rosario, which was brought from Seville, Spain, in 1550. It is a very elaborate sculpture in the Baroque style; the name of its author is unknown. Also in the interior is the representation of the crucified Christ, which is believed to be the work of an indigenous artist, Caspicara. Do not miss the hundred or so paintings by the artist Enrique Mideros that decorate the church.
