KAPAWI ECOLODGE & RESERVE

Located in Achuar territory on the Río river, near Peru, this luxury écolodoge is entirely built according to traditional methods. In the forest, 22 huts with palm roof organize around a lagoon. Everything has been carefully constructed and natural materials. Each hut has a bathroom with sun-heated water, an open terrace on the jungle with hammocks. Access by small aircraft and then by motor canoe. Reserve and lodge were created by the Canodros Agency for Sustainable Tourism, which entrusted management to the community. This lodge is an example of ecotourism; reception and activities must have the minimum environmental impact. Activities are included: visits of communities, walks in the jungle, observation of birds and caïmans, walks by canoe. Meals, a mixture of Ecuadorian and international cuisine, take place in the restaurant where the terrace offers a good point of wildlife observation. On site, a boutique of items useful for the jungle and local handicraft. A magical experience!
