PARQUE CENTENARIO
An airy space where city dwellers like to relax and enjoy an atmosphere of relative calm amid the urban hubbub
In the middle of this beautiful square, located in the heart of the city, stands the Column of Liberty, created by the Spanish sculptor Agustin Querol in honor of the artisans of the Independence. The square was inaugurated on October 9, 1920, the date on which the independence process of Guayaquil was initiated. It is framed by allegorical bronze figures representing Justice, Heroism and Patriotism. It is an airy space where city dwellers like to rest after lunch and where there is an atmosphere of relative calm in the midst of the urban hubbub.
