CASA DE OLMEDO
House containing memorabilia belonging to the Libertador, Simon Bolivar, and a collection of replica period furniture
This house belonged to the poet José Olmedo, author of the Song to Bolivar. It is made of adobe and wood, and contains memorabilia that belonged to the Libertador, Simon Bolivar, as well as a collection of replicas of furniture from the period. From the veranda, there is an unobstructed view of the baldas and shacks that float along the Malecón. To get there, take a canoe on the Malecón, ask any inhabitant of the baldas, or drive to the house through the El Salto parroquia. This house is worth a visit for history lovers.
