Walk along the ochre-coloured river to discover the village of floating wooden houses
Along the river with its ochre-coloured waters, a walk (to be avoided at night because of the possibility of aggression) allows you to discover the village of floating wooden houses. La Balsa Blanca is an example of the floating houses built in 1895 and renovated by the municipality in an effort to commemorate them. At the end of the quay, you will discover an open-air slaughterhouse where you can see the hundreds of vultures (gallinazos reales) that are attacking the carcasses. Two wooden walkways allow you to cross the Babahoyo.
