A bay that provided easy access to fresh water, wood and meat
Continuing to explore Santiago by boat to the north, we come to the Buccaneers' Cove. This bay was popular with pirates, privateers and buccaneers, as it provided easy access to fresh water, wood and meat. (The buccaneers used to come here to get fresh water, as the amphorae found on the spot testify. From this magical place, there are beautiful views of the rugged coastline in whose cliffs many seabirds nest above an amazing beach of dark pink sand.
