Founded in 1966 under the impetus of Pierre Castel, the Gabonese breweries produce their own local beers in the country's 5 factories (Libreville, Port-Gentil, Franceville, Oyem and Mouila). They distribute throughout the country the famous and unavoidable Regab, but also well-known brands brewed and bottled locally like Guinness or Doppel Munich. They also produce all sorts of soft drinks such as Vino Cola, made from red wine and coca, and various sodas such as D'jino, a fruit-flavoured drink.
