MBENG NTAM
Christophe and his wife Marie-Claire reconstituted a traditional atmosphere in their village at KP 12. The village of Mbeng Ntam is truly a family case where small and large people live the culture of their ancestors in order to preserve it. All of them contribute to the organization of evening ceremonies.
Their show, in three parts, promotes a possible first approach of different origins of the tsogho: southern tsogho, Mongongo; northern tsogho; and Elone dances to which the public can participate. The evening starts at 20 p. m. and can end late in the night, depending on the "clamp", but the end of the show is scheduled at 23 p. m. It is even possible to rest on a mattress with mosquito nets in a sheltered area.
On this occasion, the women of the village prepare a meal based on local dishes and you are invited to taste palm wine. The dancers, dressed in traditional clothes, wear sophisticated masks or makeup. The nagging music of the mouth harp and percussions seems to open the way to access the mysteries of the world of spirits. In short, the benefit is not a formatted tourist show. The inhabitants of the village of Mbeng Ntam have been able to subtly develop the area of demonstrations and the reception of foreign visitors, without giving up the fundamental aspect of the tsogho culture. An exceptional experience to live if you have the opportunity.
