ASSOCIATION DES GUIDES ECOTOUR DU MOYEN OGOOUÉ
The association, chaired by its founder, Jean Rémy Emane, known as the Italian, has been in existence for four years with, for ambition, promoting the tourist sites of Lambaréné and protecting nature. The association has two canoes and two engines, and also works as a provider for the Hotel Ogooué Palace (currently undergoing renovation). The piroguiers organise the visits of the lakes, picnic, nights in the villages and can provide for a trip to Ndjolé by way of the river, with visits to missions, palm and villages but it must be considered two days in advance. Accommodation is either under tent (take its camping equipment if possible). For illustrative purposes: for 6 persons, count CFAF 200 000 for 2 days, 300 000 FCFA for 3 days.
The members of the association are for the most part piroguiers who, after being trained in tourism and on-site guidance, are planning excursions on the lakes and Ogooué in the context of tourism development. Furthermore, they are working to sensitize villagers living around the lakes in the interest of cultural exchange through the promotion of tourism.
