CHURCH OF SAINTE-THÉRÈSE
This church was everyone's business: the brothers and parishioners contributed to its construction
It was Bishop Tardy who, during his stay as chaplain at the beginning of the First World War, felt the need to establish a Catholic mission in this region. However, it was not until 1927 that Father Lamour, coming from Boutika, began his prospection. Started in 1949, the church of Saint Theresa of Angone was consecrated on May1, 1955 by Bishop Adam. It was the business of all: the brothers and the parishioners contributed to its construction. The construction of this building, with its adjoining bell tower, required the laying of 900,000 bricks.
