LIHOUMA CAVES
Dome-shaped vault with regularly superimposed orange strata, housing a 30-metre waterfall
The dome-shaped vault is composed of regularly superimposed orange strata. A group of stalactites stands out from the rock, like a stone chandelier. There's also a 30-metre waterfall. However, the cave remains difficult to access and it is not recommended to venture in alone. It's best to be accompanied by a cave guide. On site, you may be lucky enough to meet Richard Oslisly, a geoarchaeologist who has been working in Gabon for over 40 years and knows the cave inside out.
