VISIT OF THE STRUCTURES OF BAKOUMBA - SODEPAL

Since the population of Bakoumba was heavily affected by unemployment at the time of the cessation of cable-car activity, the Comilog undertook a conversion of staff to the creation of an animal park for breeding purposes and also favoured its access to property, which enabled small family enterprises oriented towards craft activities to develop.

Tourism in the region therefore includes visits to artisanal and production sites: Tilapia fish is the main production of Sodepal in Artificiels lakes artificial basins. The tilapia is a freshwater fish that, once grown up, reaches 500 g. Sodepal is Gabon's first producer of tilapia (average 120 t per year). Still in Bakoumba, in close proximity to the accommodation, some visits are possible with no interest: the tour of the Cable Car Museum, with a guide that comments with emotion "its great time"; the rapid visit of vivarium; visit of the House of artisanat (raffia, basketry, pottery).
